It has been a while since I last blogged. It's a wonderful experience to be able to move to a new place and experience the different cultures in a country. I'm thankful that most of the people I've met so far over here are friendly though I've a few unfortunate encounters. Sadly an event happened today prompted me to blog again. It's really given me a new perspective on the two sides of human nature - beauty and ugliness.

I was waiting for the bus when I saw a lady on a motorized vehicle for the elderly. I was curious as she looked young. The first thought that popped up was - maybe it's a hot day to walk so she decided to use that vehicle. As she got closer, I had a better look. Her right arm was obviously suffering from muscle atrophy. Probably her legs are suffering from it too so she needed to use the motorized vehicle. What touched me as a beautiful thing about the human nature is the love of her father. An elderly gentleman, he accompanied her all the way to the bus stop and only got off the bus once his daughter was on it. He even thanked the passengers for putting up with the delay caused by his daughter boarding the bus on her motorized vehicle. The lady's inner strength also shone through. Despite the inconvenience, she still took the trip on her own. One can see how she wants to be independent.

The ugliness of the human nature reared its head not long after the bus took off. A man who appeared to be drunk started to hurl insults at the lady and the teenagers started to laugh. The lady did look at them but said nothing. I feel I embody the other kind of ugly human nature as I just sat there and did not speak up in her defence as I did not want to stir up any trouble. I got off the bus once it reached the train station but the drunk man and the lady was still on it. I am not sure if the insults continued or if the bus driver did something to stop it.

Thinking back - should I have spoken up or should I have done what I did? There are just two sides to human nature - beauty and ugliness...

Sometimes the truth is indeed a bitter pill to swallow. My friends would call me a bastard but I knew they were just joking. Yet when it is hinted that I am one by a person whom I care about, I guess I really am a selfish bastard. My ex once told me that she couldn't be by my side anymore as I treated her as an object which I'd care when I'm in the mood. That was the first time I hated myself for my selfish attitude. The second time came when I was told by the person I merely treated her like a toy.

It hurts really bad cause it's true. As much as I want to deny it, it was no excuse for my selfish actions and my indecisiveness. I may not want to treat her like a toy but my selfish actions speak otherwise. Who knew meeting the right person at the wrong time can be just as painful. To want to claim the moral high ground and yet wanting to maintain a platonic relationship with her - what a conceited and selfish bastard I am. There is no turning back time and there is no cure for the wounds of the heart. I would wish to say sorry to her in person but it won't matter anymore as apologies from a person she no longer cares about won't make any difference...

Loneliness is a strange feeling... At times, relationships can be so complex that loneliness just seems to be the best alternative. At worst, loneliness just makes the world around us more quiet. Saw a really meaningful quote from a forum - loners don't need love, they just need some warmth. When there is the opportunity for a relationship in front of you, how do you tell if it is warmth or if it is love that you need? Sometimes being lonely for too long just blurs the borders between the two... Maybe it's all the silence that surrounds us. I realized it has been long since I last put much of my thoughts into words. I wonder if it's because I'm on my road to recovery or if I'm slowly becoming preoccupied with work. I guess I have always had an active imagination and what better way for me to let my creative juice flow than to put it all into words? :) However, looking at my posts, most of it are really dark and solemn ones. I remember posting a few happier posts. Haha... Happier ones really just a few... I did intend for this blog to be an open diary which I can use to see how much I've grown through the years. Maybe I have really intended for this blog to be a reflection of my dark and twisted side. It's the real me when I strip bare and put my feelings to words... Should I intend to write more or write less? If I were to write more, would it mean I'd be experiencing more sorrows in the days to come? I wonder...

Was chatting with a friend about how we would try to accomplish our dreams 5 years from now. Nothing fancy, just simple dreams. She continues to pursue her hobby of drawing which she has put down for quite some time while I get a full bike license and at least a 250cc bike. :) She told me probably she'd settle down in five years. I was a bit shocked that she'd say that but she mentioned our age and it dawned upon me that I'm no longer young... :/ Guess I really need to cherish whatever youth I have left... :)

An incident this afternoon made me realise that no matter how much time have passed, the people who once mattered to me still do. Maybe to them, I am but a stranger along their path but somehow they still manage to pull the strings of my heart. I suppose once I've invited someone into my heart, it is hard for me to let them go. And Valentine's Day has just passed. It was a day to celebrate love. Like how it has always been these 24 years, it was spent alone. I guess the day is really a mystery to me. Hence, I have decided to write this note - a note to my future lover...

Seconds pass by and soon enough, Christmas 2010 is over and it will be 2011. Similar to 2009, the year has been quite a roller coaster ride for me. Seems like my wish to Santa didn't get to his mail so he better be making other people's wishes come true as he'd have the excuse of being too busy to have overlooked my wish... :) 2 more days before the dawn of a new year... I wonder if there is any miracle left this year...

If you don't know who the tin man is, he is the character from the Wizard of Oz who wanted to have a heart. Here is the link for more info about him. To think that he could not love the one whom he had fallen for cause he had no heart is such a tragedy. Then again in my case, my heart is causing me so much more pain... One of my favourite songs is "My Way" by Frank Sinatra... Regrets... I have a few... But then again, too few to mention. However, these few regrets have such profound impacts on my life I find them coming back to haunt me every now and then. Strangely enough, Loneliness is just staring at Regrets while Regrets is taunting me. There are times when the idea that to not regret is to be able to live with the decisions I've made and the actions I'd taken strikes me. However, how many of us are able to pull through? Guess it is only natural to be lonely at the top... Nvm, never again will I depend on others for my happiness as past experiences only prove that others will just let me down... King of the Cheap Skills Tournament...

My younger brother competed in the Swinburne Tekken 6 competition. Using Lee Chao Lan as his fighter, he won quite a number of matches. The only downside to that is the skills which he used are the same and it's not really enjoyable to watch although it was quite effective. Even the audiences were rooting against him. Poor dude... Eventually, he lost to a real pro. However, at the end of the competition, it seems like my bro was the only one with an elder bro and a gf to support and console him. He may have lost the competition but at that moment, I don't think he was a loser. :D

Currently, this is my idea of the big dude up the sky. I can't exactly tell if He loves me or if He just loves playing with me.

I was craving for a Spicy Double McDeluxe since yesterday. Sadly it was raining and no friends wanted to join me so I decided not to go. Today, I can't stay the craving anymore so after work, I dropped by McD to have what I am craving for. And that is when I saw a familiar figure walk by. And this familiar figure. It is her and her new bf. Sigh... At that moment I sure feel like a character in a comedy. Merely exchanged a smile with the couple :) She looked happy. The smile I saw on her face was a smile I'd not seen in a long while. Glad she is happy...

If there is something called fate, I wonder why it always put me in all the weirdest situations at the worst possible times... :/ Sigh... Why so serious at McD? Haha...

Pooh Pooh

This is - Pooh Pooh. Yesterday I brought the Korean vendors to an electronics shop. When we got there, we saw a cute chubby little kid. He is about one year old and he kept running around the shop and messing things up. Seeing the kid, I just thought of Pooh Pooh. Like how Pinocchio was a puppet turned into a boy, I imagined that Pooh Pooh would have been similar to that toddler if he was a real toddler. Naughty and cute. So naughty that you get angry yet so cute you can't stay angry... :)

I miss Pooh Pooh. I wonder how he is doing now. Is he still loved? :(

I really wonder what the memories we shared mean to you but to me, it is my precious which I'll always treasure. If anything, these photos are fragments of memories we once shared. Looking at these pictures, do you feel the same way that I feel?

20th September 2009 - The first time you were angry with me. That night you could not go out with me as your housemates wanted you to look after the house. I was so angry with the way they treated you and worried about how you had not had your dinner I just lost my cool. Eventually one of your housemates returned and I brought you out to dinner. :) I still remember how angry you were with me that night as you were so quiet. You told me not to worry as everything will be alright the next day. Sadly, things are not going to be alright this time round...

2nd September 2009 - The first time I took you to the clinics after telling your mum you were sick. I know you never liked me telling your mum stuff but I just cant help it at times as I know that she is constantly worrying about you and there are things she needs to know. I suppose it is a good thing I never found the Chinese physician :P I bet you would not like the herbal medicine. I still remember that night as vividly as yesterday. I had to drop you off at the clinic while I went to give tuition. That night, you waited for me at home. I felt a sense of relief that you finally saw the doc and ate your medicine. I still find it funny to see how shy you were that you did not dare have dinner :)

I think I wanted to give you a peck on your cheek while taking this picture so it ended up so blurry. That day we ended up taking pics using your webcam. You uploaded it and named the album "Mr Coffee and Miss Waffles" I wonder if you still have those pictures with you...

17th October 2009 - The first time I decided to cook for you. The only dish which I know how to prepare is spaghetti so I settled on that dish. Even got the tomato sauce from your place. You were my assistant while I cooked. That night we cooked so much that both of us couldn't finish it before going over to my friend's birthday party. That night was also the first night I saw you getting drunk after drinking screwdrivers which you thought was orange juice :P

One morning you complained we never took enough pics as a couple. We took a few shots and this was the best among them all. We looked so happy. I think we were really happy when we took this picture.

During my hols, we were always together. If my memory serves me right, you had a "Malaysian Studies" test the next day and you were tired from o the studying. Wanted to go dinner after watching the HK drama but you were still lounging on your bro's bed. However, you looked so cute I couldn't resist but to give you a peck on the cheek. :)

That was the last picture I have of us. I suppose that is where the story ends. 2010 came and there are a lot of major changes in our lives. I found a job and I could no longer be with you as much as I did back then. Your mum fell sick and then she passed away. With my job at hand, I couldn't spend as much time as I could to console you and help you get through the sadness. Our distance started growing and my temper became worse because of the insecurity I felt. With that, the vicious cycle started and we grew apart until that day you told me that I no longer had your heart...

Life seldom gives people second chances and we cannot turn back time. Life has no "if" and I can only learn from the mistakes of my actions and pick up the pieces regardless of how much I wish to undo my actions... I suppose all that matters now is that you are happy...

It sure is hard to believe that a week has passed by so fast. Since the day you broke up with me, I just realize that there hasn't been a day that has not rained. As implied by this song, I wonder if the angels are crying...

You said that you wish there is no such a thing as "wasted". I can tell you this - your love for me wasn't wasted. I may have changed too late but it did change me. Made me realize how much of a horrible person I am and I should really change my attitude or I'll lose more of those around me. I also do not think I "wasted" my love on you - simply because I Love You...

You once asked me "Do you believe in fairy tales?" I told you "I'll never be your knight in shining armour." but I didn't tell you "I'll be your guardian angel and give my all for you..." I remember a story. Once there was a scholar. He had looks, a bright future and beautiful wife. One day, an angel descended from heaven and asked him "Are you happy?" He said "My life is the envy of many people but sadly I do not know what happiness is." That instant, the angel took away his looks, his wife and everything else which he had. A short story which I once read but somehow it seems to reflect my current situation. A stable job, a good girlfriend and no worries. It is a pity I couldn't appreciate it all until now when it is all too late... At least in the story, the scholar had a happy ending. Will I have mine?

This is another one of my most recent purchases along with God of War 3. Anyway, I will just cut to the chase. My most frustrating experience with FF13 is the difficulty in finding item and weapon guides. As for most of the other stuff, they can be easily Googled. So in this article I'll just copy and paste the info I got. Credit goes to the respective authors.

Welcome! This is a comprehensive guide to all of the accessories and weapons in
Final Fantasy XIII. Here you will find the max levels of all these items, the
catalysts used to transform them, and the bonuses that you will get when using
them.

===BEST EQUIPMENT=======================================================[#3.g]

I've had a lot of emails recently asking about the best equipment for each
character. Below is a list of what I used during the end-game material, but
keep in mind that there is no cut and dry way to equip characters and have
them perfect every time. That being said, here we go:

WEAPONS:

Lightning: Lionheart (for Commando)
Axis Blade (for Ravager)

Sazh: Vega 42s (multiple roles)
Rigels (for Commando)

Snow: Paladin (he's best as a Sentinel anyway)

Hope: Hawkeye

Vanille: Healer's Staff (for Medic)
Belladonna Wand (for Saboteur)

Fang: Taming Spear

ACCESSORIES:

These are the accessories that I felt best suited my main party. My main
party was made up of Lightning as Ravager/Healer/Commando, Fang as
Sentinel/Saboteur/Commando, and Hope as Healer/Ravager/Synergyst. I would
swap other characters in every now and then if I needed their special
abilities (Vanille's Death comes to mind). Anyway, here's my main party's
accessory set-up:

Lightning: Kaiser Knuckles
Magistral Crest
Sprint Shoes
Supper Ribbon

Fang: Kaiser Knuckles
Kaiser Knuckles
Sprint Shoes
Supper Ribbon

Hope: Wurtzite Bangle
Magistral Crest
Sprint Shoes
Supper Ribbon

Those Supper Ribbons are also your swap spot. If you're farming for items
and CP, you can swap those out for Catalogs and Growth Egg. If you're
farming 5-star ratings, equip the Gold Watch on someone.

Also, if you're Equipping Lightning with the Axis Blade or it's second
tier, Enkindler, be aware that these weapons are part of the Synthesis
group called "Boost" (not the third tier of the weapon however). The other
items in the Boost catagory are:
- Hermes Sandals
- Sprint Shoes
- Whistlewind Scarf
- Aurora Scarf
- Nimbletoe Boot
If you equip these accessories rather than the ones lsited above, you will
get a synthesized ability that raises the speed of the ATB gauge:
- 2 items - ATB Rate +10%
- 3 items - ATB Rate +15%
- 4 items - ATB Rate +20%
- 5 items - ATB Rate +30%
When you add the ATB speed increase with Auto-Haste and the innate ability
of the Axis Blade, Lightning will be able to drive up the chain gauge
with ease.

===SPECIAL PROPERTIES EXPLAINED=========================================[#3.h]

***NOTE: All of the game's special properties (found on weapons) are explained
below. First you'll see the property name, then the game's
description (in quotes), then my comments below that.

***NOTE: Note that the second name given on any property simply means that the
proprty is increased with that rank. Rank two of all applicable
proprties are found on Tier II and Tier III weapons.

Attack: ATB Charge/Attack: ATB Charge II
"Slightly recharges ATB gauge each time an enemy is attacked"
Great for speeding up a character's ATB rate, especially effective
if combined with Haste and the Boost synthesis bonus.

Improved Raise/Improved Raise II
"Slightly boosts HP restored to allies by Raise"
Nice for healers, but looses effectiveness further into the game
since you won'tbe dying as much (and when you probably won't have
chance to caste Raise then anyway).

Leadenstrike/Ironstrike
"Greatly reduces ATB gauge recharge rate."
This is a negative effect, slowing down the ATB gauge. Can be offset
with Haste and other bonuses.

Stagger Lock
"Prevents staggering of enemies"
Not as bad as it sounds, since other characters can still stagger
the enemy and the character can still raise the chain gauge.

Quick Stagger
"Allows instant staggering of enemies near their stagger threshold."
Allows characters to stagger enemies quicker than usual.

Augment Maintenance/Augment Maintenance II
"Slightly extends the duration of offensive buffs."
Great for Synergysts.

Paper Tiger/Silk Tiger
"Greatly reduces maximum HP."
Horrible bonus... though it can be offset with HP boosting
accessories.

Chain Bonus Boost/Chain Bonus Boost II
"Slightly boosts the chain bonus gained by attacking an enemy."
Good ability for Ravagers.

Stagger Maintenance/Stagger Maintenance II
"Slightly extends the duration for which enemies remain staggered."
Increased stagger time is always a good thing. If you have no other
options for a weapon, use it, but there are generally better
options.

Critical: Shield/Critical: Shield II
"Slightly boosts physical and magic resistance when HP is critical."
An ok bonus, but its generally not the best idea to leave your
characters in critical condition.

Siphon Boost/Siphon Boost II
"Slightly boosts ATB gauge recovery from Siphon abilities."
Good for Ravagers.

Defense Maintenance/Defense Maintenance II
"Slightly extends the duration of defensive buffs."
Good for Synergysts.

Stifled Magic/Fettered Magic
"Greatly reduces magic damage dealt to enemies."
Very bad for magic users, but ok for commandos.

Improved Guard/Improved Guard II
"Slightly enhances the effectiveness of Mediguard and Steelguard."
Good for Sentinals.

Critical: Power Surge/Critical: Power Shield II
"Slightly boosts Strength and Magic when HP is critical."
An ok bonus, but its generally not the best idea to leave your
characters in critical condition.

Enfeeblement/Hindrance
"Greatly reduces physical damage dealt to enemies."
Same as Stifled Magic, but lowers physical attacks instead.

Improved Ward/Improved Ward II
"Slightly enhances the effectiveness of Deathward and Fringeward."
Good for Sentinals.

Stagger: TP Charge/Stagger: TP Charge II
"Slightly restores party TP each time an enemy is staggered"
Good if you're using summons or trying to fill out your data log
with Libra.

Improved Debilitation/Improved Debilitation II
"Slightly boosts the success rate of debilitation abilities"
Good for Saboteurs.

Improved Counter/Improved Counter II
"Slightly boosts the effectiveness of counterattack abilities"
Good for Sentinals.

Improved Cure/Improved Cure II
"Slightly enhances the restorative effects of Cure spells."
Good for healers.

Ally Ko: Power Surge/Ally KO: Power Surge II
"Slightly boosts Strength and Magic each time an ally is KO'd."
An ok ability, but just like the critical properties, you don't
want to spend all your time with dead allies.

Improved Debuffing/Improved Debuffing II
"Boosts the success rate of debuffing abilities."
Good for Saboteurs.

===GATHERING TRAPEZOHEDRON==============================================[#4.b]

As you can tell by simply looking through the weapon list, you will need at
least 6 Trapezohedron to create 1 tier three weapon for each character
(1 Trapezohedron is required for each Tier 3 weapon). If you were to buy
these, you would be spending 12,000,000 gil. Considering the cost of
materials needed to upgrade weapons and accessories, the extra 12 million
is not a welcome sight. Here's how to bypass that cost:

The best time to do this is during post game. All you need is Vanille's Death
ability (available in the level nine crystarium). With this, you can easily
kill those huge Adamantoise creatures wandering around Gran Pulse. There is
also one in Leviathon Plaza in Eden. This is personally the best place to
farm, as there is a save point in the plaza next to the Adamantoise.

Now, to make this go as quickly as possible, give Vanille the Marlboro Wand
(Tier 2 of the Belladona Wand). Also, give her anything to boost her speed
(Hermes Sandals, Sprint Shoes, Whistlewind Scarf, Aurora Scarf, Nimbletoe
Boots).

Set up you party with Vanille as your lead, then a Sentinal and Medic. Your
Paradigm deck will be Attrition (SAB + SEN + MED).

Now, as soon as you enter battle with the Adamantoise, begin casting Death
with Vanille. This has a low probability of working, but keep at it. When the
creature dies, you will receive 40,000 CP, and you'll have a chance at
getting a Platinum Ingot (sells for 150,000 gil, 5% drop rate), or a
Trapezohedron (1% drop rate).

**Note that the Adamantoise are also a great way to farm money, and if you
come back after obtaining the Growth Egg you will gain a decent ammount of
CP from the fights as well.

===TRIPLICATING TRAPEZOHEDRON===========================================[#4.c]

Once you have one Trapezohedron, you can turn that one into three.

To do this, pick up a Mistilteinn, one of Vanille's weapons, buyable from
Plautus's Workshop for 11,000 gil. Along with this, you will need the
following materials:

159 Sturdy Bone \
89 Superconductor \ Total gil:
2 Particle Accelerator / 1,507,400 gil
28 Ultracompact Reactor /

1 Scarletite - (bought for 100,000 gil from "The Motherlode", or farmed
from enemies. See "Obtaining Catalysts" section.)
1 Trapezohedron

Now, use the following items to upgrade the Mistilteinn in this exact
order (for best cost effectiveness)

36 x Sturdy Bone
50 x Superconductor

1 x Scarletite

36 x Sturdy Bone
2 x Ultracompact Reactor
15 x Sturdy Bone
27 x Superconductor

1 x Trapezohedron

36 x Sturdy Bone
26 x Ultracompact Reactor
36 x Sturdy Bone
2 x Particle Accelerator
12 x Superconductor

The weapon should now be a maxed out Nirvana. Once you dismantle this, you
will receive:

71 x Monstrous Fang
60 x Entrancing Tail
36 x Moonblossom Seed
10 x Tear of Woe
3 x Trapezohedron

==="TREASURE HUNTER" TROPHY=============================================[#4.d]

After you have obtained every item in the lists above (exluding the multiple
tier 3 weapons, as noted at the beginning of the weapon section), you must
return to Bhakti in Oerba to claim the trophy. If you have not repaired the
robot yet, you must do so in order to speak with him. Once fixed, he will
give you the "Treasure Hunter" trophy and "Pulsian Pioneer" trophy, assuming
that you meet the conditions for both.

Intuition - a feeling you get about things that are going to happen. At this moment, I have an intuition that something bad is about to happen. The whole night, my heart has been aching. I wonder if it is a sign of things to come...

Sometimes, intuition may just be an accumulation of the past experiences which gives us a logical assumption of things to come. If that is the case, I wonder if my past experiences is the cause of my misery at the moment.

If I take action, will I be able to change the intuition I feel?

No matter how sad I am, you merely leave me alone. I really wonder if it is true that opening up your heart merely gives others the chance to break it...

It has been a really long while since I last updated my blog. Probably it's because I've been feeling fine and nothing much worth writing about. Lately, I have been feeling the brunt of the depression again. Just feel like my fire of passion has been doused, I just can't seem to be bothered to do much.

I am feeling really tired now. Wondering what's the point of trying so hard when it all amounts to nothing. In an incident that happened lately, it seems like my effort merely caused me to be despised. Sigh. Maybe it is such events that make me feel like this way. Why bother to try when it only causes more problems?

The weather has not been helping much either. It's always been gloomy these days. It is really hard to cheer up on a rainy day I suppose. I wonder if my heart has yet fully healed and it cannot really take another blow. :(

Sigh... Hope things will turn out to be better...

As your can see, this is the latest addition to my PS3 games. Bought it in Jan to kill time while waiting for God of War 3 and Final Fantasy XIII but somehow I'm now hooked onto this game. It's a turn based strategy which does eat up a lot of my time. To be honest, I think too much time has been wasted on this game yet I can't seem to stop.

This game would be great for those with plenty of time to kill. As I've got myself a job now, the time I can spend on this game is very very little indeed. :( The level cap of the characters is 9999 and the characters can be reincarnated with their stats... :O

Well, a half arsed blog post about my half arsed game. Maybe I'll post about job in the next post. :D

Looking back 2009...

Looking back, 2009 has been a roller coaster ride for me. There were indeed a lot of ups and downs for me in the year 2009 - the emotionally unstable period in early 2009 due to the passing of my grandmother and a break up, the eventual success I had in finding part time jobs and also my studies to the depressing realization that my FYP is not gonna be finished on time and to find my new love :D during the second sem when I thought that all hope was lost :P

And today is New Year's Eve. To think that so much has happened in just a year, it is really hard to put my thoughts into perspective. Anyway, even today has a twist of its own as if to show me that my life in 2009 is to be full of dramas. If you noticed the pinkish patch on Sonia's cheek, it is just a symptom of her not drinking enough water and not a case of Rihanna and Chris Brown. With her parents coming over, it is really suspicious that she insists on putting on sunglasses to cover it up. The more she insists on doing it, the more it looks like a cover up of abusive boyfriend beats the crap outta girlfriend and girlfriend hiding it from parents -.-"

Well not sure how 2010 will turn out as it'll be a year I'll be finding my first job and a lot more uncertainties await me but I hope I'll manage to sail over it as smoothly as I had handled 2009 :D A better year awaits!!! Happy 2010 everyone!!!

Currently my life just feels this way. So hard to distinguish between reality and illusions. A lot of people who do not know tend to assume what they see is what they get. On the contrary, what they see may just be illusions. That is what I really hate about perception. It can easily be fooled. The brain loves to ignore what it does not want to know...

Bliss? It is such an abstract feeling no one can really describe what it really is. Strangely, it is strongly pursued along with love. :/ Who knows if the things we get are actually just mere illusions? Illusions - it is hard to tell it apart from reality when you are looking from the outside, it is even harder to discern when you are in the illusion...

Happiness? I think it is the feeling which I can be the least associated with at the moment... illusions... I just hope I can see through them...

I'm not sure how many people have watched Harold and Kumar goes to Whitecastle but this is a case of Nick and Eve goes to McD. In an earlier post, because of a thoughtless comment I made, I owe Eve a big Mac. *Time flies by... Not too sure how long after the promise was made* The time has arrived and Eve come to claim her burger... (Actually she just bo sim study so kena jio ke McD) So thinking it'll just be a fast supper around 10, I went... And b4 I knew it, I'd suddenly become a law tutor???

from 10p.m. to 3a.m. -.-" Even have to shift from 3rd Mile McD to d McD in town...

It is such an irony that another one of those "spiritual" politicians has just passed away. Somehow the way things are happening, it seems like the good guys are dying one after another. On the other hand, the so called corrupted and vile bunch of guys are still alive and kicking and basically kicking our asses... At times, I do wonder if this is life's tragic irony - for us to be forsaken from the Garden of Eden into this land we call home. If so, maybe that is why the good guys get called back to Paradise but we are here...

My holidays are finally coming to an end... Sigh... Soon enough I'll be starting my final sem... Come to think of it... It's so scary how fast time flies by :( Once upon a time, I was just a noobie at uni :D And now I'm about to worry about my final year project and a job :(

Come to think of it, I really haven't done much these hols :( Sad to say, the idea of getting a one month practical din materialize. On a happy note, I've been playing my psp and got really good at Final Fantasy Dissidia. Apart from that, I even manage to (almost... Anytime now) to complete my Final Fantasy Tactics- War of the Lions :D

Been so busy for the past month I didn't even have the time to post pics of me during a blood donation campaign. But here it is. Found out I'm an O+ type and my blood can be used to save a lot of lives.

Yippee a hundredth post since I started my blog!!! Guess what ? The 100th post is about my new found pessimism :D I guess there are too many people who view the glass as half full these days so a little dose of pessimism is gonna do everyone good.

So why be a pessimist. Simply put : Being a pessimist gets me proven right or I get a pleasant surprise :D
Think of it this way. For those who actually view the glass as half full tend to get disappointed when they realised they are only half full when they drink the glass of milk :) At least when pessimists drink it, they are half hungry.

Even in most points in life, people tend to get more disappointed when they are hoping. The worse thing is, Life is so ironic in how it always give us the opposite of what we hope for. The bankers were hoping for a better economy and see how 2008 turned out to be? People are hoping to find the "special one" but do they realise that the odds of finding one person among the billions that live on Earth is like finding a needle in a haystack? wait a minute, finding d needle is easier actually. Even d odds of winning d jackpot is so much higher. It is one to a million. D former, one to a few billions.

And so, whenever you are feeling hopeful, do remember to have that hint of a doubt and pessimism :D The higher your hopes are, the bigger your disappointments will be.

An idea sparked and I decided to create this kindness tag. :) If most of you can actually spare some time to do tags, why not spare a thought for others? Two months... That is how long it has been... People always say memories will fade with time and maybe two months is too short a period but the recurring memories just keep coming back to haunt me... The once beautiful memories of yesterday are now the haunting nightmares of today...

It's such a torture... Awake and my mind keeps wandering off to where you are... When I sleep, you appear in my dreams... I guess what's an impossibility in reality is what is reflected in my dreams...

On the night before yesterday, I just vaguely remember i dream of you... I dunno y I can't recall what the dream was about no matter how hard I try. The only thing I recalled waking up in the morning was the pain in my heart... These days it is no longer a figure of speech but rather a physical pain that I can feel...

Today, you appeared again in my nap. It's funny as your hair was short... Somehow you were teasing me in my dream... Just like how it was in the memories I recall... It was all very lucid and real... First Day of the Final Year

Alas, today is the first day of my final year in uni. I was looking forward to a day when o went smooth but things will never happen the way we want them to be :(

So I am lucky enough to have a class that only starts at 2.30p.m. Slept till 11.49am and woke up to a not so good morning. Not long after, did a routine mail check and what not but my friends were ady on their way to pick me up. I thought that putting on contact lenses would be a breeze on the third day but who knew it took so much longer than I had expected? In the end I was left with no choice but to only put on one. Actually that was kinda a stupid choice. I was so dizzy with a clear vision on one side and extremely poor one on the other. Did not even bring anything... Slipped on my slippers and I was outta d house...

In uni... Sigh.. Why bother to call the subjects elective subjects when we do not have any other available options? It is so FUCKING ridiculous. :( I do not even wanna go into the details of this stupid ordeal...

First day... Well, hope things will pick up...

Just realised I have not updated my blog for quite some time again. Yesterday was a milestone in my life of sorts. After much procrastinating, finally got the reports of my Industrial Based Training done. E-mailed it to my supervisors but haven't got a reply from them yet. I wonder if there are lotsa stuff wrong with what I did. :P

Anyway. Also managed to come to a closure upon other matters. Somewhat of a relief to myself. Well as they say, an end of a chapter is the beginning of another. I dare say yesterday was the ending to that chapter entitled "A break up and a funeral" of my life. Soon, a new semester is starting and hopefully with it a fresh beginning. Although I dare say it's a final year with lotsa work and I do not really look forward to it, maybe it will have a few pleasant surprises along the way.

All I can do is walk down this path called life...

Last Thurs was the death of my grandmother. I cant exactly put into words how I felt then but it was a tragic loss for me. To have a series of unfortunate events happening in such a short period of time really made me think...

Maybe it is all because of a thing called fate... It just takes you where it wants you to be... You can try to fight it but that proves to be futile most of the time.... Seems like the best thing to do is just go with the flow... To accept that fate has brought about a situation - desirable or otherwise, and the only thing we can do is to make the best out of the situation...

I guess those of you who bother to read my blog do know from the lyrics i've published in the previous posts have indicated that I just broke up recently... My apologies if any of you do not read Chinese and do not know what they mean... I'd still recommend the songs. Just copy and paste the titles in Google and search :P Basically, the songs are just love ballads and I feel that those songs do represent my feelings well...

For the first one... "Yi ge ren sheng huo" basically means living alone... I guess without her, I've to be on my own again. Although I've been alone most of the time, I will still need to get used to being alone again... Being alone ain't lonely... Missing someone when you're alone is lonely... For this song, I love the lyrics. Some of my fav parts of the lyrics "...the shadows on the wall seem to remind me of you and how lonely I am..." and "... in these cold nights, only my tears keep me warm..." If you're feeling emo and you wanna put your feelings into words, feel free to copy and paste those lines :)

And for the music with the video - "Love is too painful". Well as the title suggests, it's basically about how after the break up, the singer still can't forget his lover and love is just a torment in a situation like this. I love this song. Even the clips kinda remind me of the time we had together. Like what a friend of mine said, when you just broke up, it seems like all the sad songs are written for you :) Classic line from this song - "...love is so painful that it is killing me yet I just can't forget you..." Once again, it ain't my song but feel free to use the lyrics :P

It really has been a while... The wounds are healing but I know it will leave a deep scar. Lately it really has been an emotional roller coaster for me. Love, despair, pain, hope, disappointment, anger and finally sorrow... I guess after sorrow I am slowly recovering... Happy New Year to all my friends...

Like the lamb that is holding onto a thin piece of thread, I'm holding on tightly. I'm so scared that if I loosen my grip, I'd lose you. But it seems no matter how hard I try to hold on, the thread is still thin and it just might break. These days, I don't know what has changed but it seems like things are no longer the same. You constantly deny that you have a change of heart but your actions seem to show otherwise.

Guess it is true when some times people say it's just pointless to tell anyone about the problems that we ourselves are facing. It is not like the world is going to stop spinning just because we are plagued with problems. The sun still rises and the winds still blow.

Usuallly I'd dismiss this all as hogwash and pessimistic view of life but i guess I'm tasting it at the moment. Seems like no point telling people my problems. Try telling it to people and they think i'm being moody. Try telling it to SOME people and it actually agitates them -.-" ! Sigh...

A smile is easier to put on than a frown as it takes 32 muscles to frown while it only takes 16 muscles to smile. Either that or 64, 128 , 256 or 512. Bah! Doesn't matter as my frown seems to be easier to put on. Woots even smiley became a frownie.

What is the point of explaining and trying my best when all i get are just more discouraging remarks? It's not like I ain't trying. :(

Animals with Illnesses

It is kinda sad that most people are concerned about fellow humans but not about the animals. Here are some instances of animals with diseases that greatly requires our attention.

Polar bears
From my observations, polar bears suffer from a genetic albinism. I've never noticed one with any darker shades.

Pandas
These adorable national icons are suffering from serious insomnia. Notice those dark circles around their eyes.

Camels

These creatures which are synonymous with the desert have tumour growth on their backs making em look like the hunchback of Notre Dame.

Puffer Fish
These poor fishes are suffering from serious gassy abdominals. Wonder if anyone plans to rear one of these in a tank of ENO.

Blue Whale
These poor mammals are suffering from a serious case of gigantism. They are so huge they fell into the deep ocean and never surfaced.

In a Holy Month when an unholy deed is done, I wonder if justice will be dispensed. It is indeed a sad day for most who share the same sentiment when the prominent blogger RPK has been arrested. Well "rumours" which he spread tend to prove themselves in time and he is being arrested for such "rumours" whereas the other mad dogs who instigate hatred are let loose on the streets.

At times I do wonder if there is real justice. When those whom we entrust our future bring back our ghosts of the past, those whom we trust to protect us turn their backs on us, and those whom we trust to unite actually divide, I wonder if there is any hope left. Maybe, just maybe... In this Holy Month, a miracle may happen. A miracle happening granted the people want it badly enough, granted cause too much atrocity has been done and granted cause even the Almighty Himself feels that divine intervention is needed. And granted, this miracle is justice...

31st of August, the Independence Malaysia or just the Independence of Malaya to be more specific. Sarawak only joined Malaya and became independent on the 16th of September 1963. So what does Independence mean to me???

Well don't ask me, I'm just a squatter here in Malaysia. Apparently according to a politician, the Chinese are just squatters in this land and do not enjoy equal rights. So yeah, what does a squatter like me know???

On a serious note, Independence would mean freedom from all sorts of oppression, be it from Colonial powers or even racism, discrimination and what not. I hope that such a real form of Independence will be achieved on the 16th of September marking the real meaning of Independence :D

Bus trip to Swinburne from town.

Well on Friday, the final results were released. Once again due to incompetency and bureaucracy, my results were withheld. I had no transport and had to take a two hour bus trip to campus just to try and settle this messy affair. Along the way i was swearing at d incompetency of them all. Bloody fools. Oh well instead of feeling that angry i decided to make the trip a more worthwhile one by taking snap shots of the landmarks i pass through on d way to uni in d bus. This is how it looks like from inside a bus :D

The castle build during the colonial times and the huge building in d back is d RM 2 BILLION states office. Sarawak is a rich state...

The building used to be a magistrate court in d olden days. Now it's a little Lebanon with facilities for those who wanna smoke Sisha :P

These shops add an ancient flavour to Carpenter Street.

Carpenter street (a.k.a Attap Street)... It's very lively during Chinese festivals.

Been busy after I came back from my Bintulu trip and didn't have much time to blog. Well since today is a Sunday and it is such a wonderful day, I shall blog about my trip :D

Nick Can Cook

Haha!!! Bet ya all didn't know that Nick can cook. Well I ain't lying. These are pics of me cooking spagetthi :D

First of all, get all the cooking utensils needed. 2 pots are needed.

Then, take out the ingredients for the sauce. Some meatballs, some mushroom and Prego tomato sauce.

Boil three quarters of water in the pot. Once the water is boiling, add in one to 2 tablespoons of salt. This is to prevent the spagetthi from sticking.

Spagetthi in boiling water. HaHA!!! Try slipping yrself outta this situation u slippery spagetthi!!!

Do remember to stir the spagetthi in boiling water. This is done to cook the spagetthi evenly.

Now to the gravy. First, add a bit of oil into the pot. Heat it up. Then add in the meat balls. Stire fry the meatballs. Once u can smell the aroma, pour in half a bottle of the Prego tomato sauce. Cook it in slow fire. After a while once the meatballs are cooked, pour in the mushrooms. Cook for a few more minutes and your gravy is ready to go :D

Once the gravy is cooked, serve it in a bowl.

Now, warm up the spagetthi and take it outta the pot. Hot and fresh and ready to be served :)

Pour the tomato gravy onto the spagetthi and u get yrself a plate of mouth watering spagetthi. Ok I admit. It does look disgusting but it doesn't taste half as bad as it looks.

So if Nick can cook, so can you. Sorry Yan. Don't sue me.

Haven't updated my blog for quite some time so I guess I'll add some junk to it.

This is the phone I'm using. It is an LG Viewty. Sexy little thing right??? Regardless of what they say about its battery power, I beg to differ.

Yesterday I talked on the phone for nearly 6 hours on this after having a full charge. At the end, there is still a bar left. I was surprised. I only expected the phone's talktime to last for 4 hours or so. Didn't know it could last that long. Somehow I've a bad feeling some of my brain cells got fried in that 6 hours. Hmm...

Yupe... Ends with a nonsensical cliff hanger...
